Final evaluation
Final evaluation of final adverts against the statement of intent
Final analysis of Advert 1
Firstly, in 1st advert i have used 3 models, 2 of them being males and 1 a female showing that the adverts are targetted at both genders not having a specific gender excluded, ignored or discriminated. Furthermore, the 3 models are from 3 different ethnicities showing that the advert promotes internationalism and multiculturalism therefore when any type of audience looks at the advert they will all feel welcome and targetted at, especially as in the region of Esssex there is many foreign people from other countries with different cultures therefore it is important to embrace that and make this kind of audiences feel that they are targetted at too.
The advert`s 3 models are all at different ages however the ages all go in the targetted age category which is 16-25 year olds. The female is 17 years old, the male holding the helmet is 18 and the other male is 21 years old. This illustartes a diversity of different ages that all go to the targetted age group. Also, it shows that every person from that age group can order from this food delivery service.
As the reginional identity targetted is the region of Essex, the advert`s photo has been shot in Harlow- a town in Essex. Therefore, to show that the targetted region is Essex i have used stereotypes which are associated with the Essex youth and the culture of Essex. For example, one of the males is holding a bike helmet which means he is riding a bike which is a common stereotype help upon the Essex boys, that they start drinking, smoking and riding bikes at an early age which can be a way in which they `show off` their masculinity to the others and also show that they are dominant.
The social class which is represented in this advert is mainly the skilled working class and lower middle class. This is because the audience that occupies and comes from the higher class backgrounds will be more likely to go to eat outside to more luxurious restaurants and places as they would have the economic and financial capital to do that rather than to order food for home. Whereas, the lower middle class and working class will earn less and therefore would prefer to eat from home. The lower middle class is represented through the clothing of the male at the middle. For example his clothes look quite expensive and luxurious especially the `Nike` branded shoes. The shoes can also represent the typical Essex boys as boys from Essex will most likely be seen wearing `Adidas` or `Nike` trainers rather than a formal pair of shoes. Also, this would therefore attract the attention and appeal to The Succeeder as they when it comes to brands they seek prestige and the best as they feel that this is what they deserve, therefore having this middle class representation of this model in the advert can result in attracting audience such as the Succeeders but other as well as they would be persuaded that the delivery food service of ``YOUR FOOD`` will be prestige and on a high level. Also, the girl is wearing a hand bag which is a quite formal way of dressing.
The shot of the photo is a long shot therefore this allows the audience to explore both the body language of the models as well as their facial expressions however the body language can be seen in much more detail. Their body language shows that they are quite relaxed therefore this would make the audience feel at ease and them feel comfortable. The shot shows an interaction between all of the models. In this case the long shot is useful as it shows offers a better view of the mise en scene and the location at which the photo is taken. The main colours used in the wirtten codes such as the slogans, strapline and headline is the black which is because it creates a very good contrast with the red colour in the mise en scene- the cafe. The slogan `stop, eat, go` is in the bright and saturated colour green in order to portray the idea that `YOUR FOOD` also offers healthy food options for some fo the audience that may be vegetarian or vegan. Furthermore the black adds formality and a serious tone to the advert. Having the green slogan and the black strapline near eachother makes the green sloga stand out, as it is a bright colour compared to the unsaturated black colour. In the advert in the written codes- the strapline and headline i have used repetition in the words `your` and `better` which is done in order to entertain and intrigue the reader so this can attract their attention on this part of the advert. The lighting is quite bright which can be as a result of the red colours of the cafe which makes the advert differentiate from the other stuff that may be around. The red has connotations of excitement therefore this would interest the audience.
The bright slogan `stop, eat, go` is like a sign and also connotes the idea that even that you may be rushing the service is fast enough so you can still afford to eat something quickly, and therefore this saturated green colour makes it stand out and appear dominant to the rest of the slogans and headline of the advert.
Final analysis of Advert 2
In my 2nd advert, there is 4 models which therefore would illustrate the targetted age group of 16-25 year olds. As in this advert there is 1 more model this once more portrays the multiculturalism, internationalism and diveristy of ethnicities so all can feel at ease and welcome, which will increase the chance of attracting more audience and therefore consumers to the food delivery service. Furthermore, in this advert the new model is `gay` therefore this presents even better the idea of having the advert targetted at all genders, not only at females and males but at other sub genders as well. This is important to do in order to attract 100% of the potential audience and customers, so they can feel comfortable with the food service being sure that they will not have any issues just as a result of their gender but will be treated equally which is already foreshadowed at the advert. This will also ensure that the this kind of audience will be satisfied with the delivery service. In this avdert, the steretypes shown in order to represent the regional identity of Essex is by the location of the advert. The location is taken in Harlow town centre, and therefore it portrays that the models are waiting for their food to be delivered therefore meaning that they have free time and are most likely unemployed. Unemployment and discouragement is a common stereotype help upon the young people of Essex. It is also stereotyped that the people from this area are most likely to be uneducated which will lead to either being unemployment or employed in the primary work sectors, meaning that they are only planning day by day and do not have long term goals for the future or any aspirations. This can be seen through the advert as the models look and are portrayed as careless, and that they do not have anything vital to do showing that they are irresponsible and therefore only go out to `chill` and have fun, just how the youth of Essex is stereotyped like.
The social class that will be targetted would be the working class, which can be seen by the mise en scene, as it is quite derelict and therefore the are does look like a place that people from the upper middle class would go to consume their food at, they would rather consume it at a inside location such as in their homes or in higher class restaurant.
All of the models are making direct mode of adress and eye contact with the audience that will be looking at the advert therefore this would make them feel like they are targetted at, moreover this is emphasised further by having their fingers pointing at the camera when the photo was taken. When someone walks past the advert they may be intrigued by why they are pointed at and will therefore take time to look at the advert, read the written codes and see what it is about. The direct mode of address (finger pointing at the audience) and symbolic codes and the body language of the models can be seen very clearly as technical codes such as the type of shot is a long shot therefore more detail and attention is focused on the body language. Furthermore, through the facial expressions (symbolic code) i have included humour appeal which is helpful and useful in order to involve the audience and create a sense of positivity and amusement, not only does it attract the attention but creates the advert to be rememberable. Humour appeal shows creativity and imagination. Therefore, following this, this will most likely appeal to The Explorer. This would be as a result of the location as it usually differes from the mainstream locations of where food is consumed at such as at home- kitchen, living room, in cafes or restaurants, and therefore the demonstrations of the different cultures and ethnicities may interest the Explorer as this would mean that the foof delivery service will offer a variety of food styles and traditions that they would want to taste as they seek to discover and explore new, try new ideas and have new experiences, which can therefore be linked to the idea of trying new foods from `YOUR FOOD` food delivery service. The written codes such as the slogan `big food little money` may be appealing as already said to the working class as it suggests to them that the food offered by this service will be affordable to them which is the most important for them therefore they would order it. The other slogan `We bet you won`t find better` is quite competative and therefore questionning to the audience to engage them, and make them try the delivery service. The use of colours in this advert is of saturated colours which stimuate the audience and create a positive atmosphere. The facial expression of the model on the left, adds some humour and therefore creates a bit of contrast with the formal tone which is conveyed by the black font. The contrast is essential, as the audience will not be at ease if the advert is too serious and formal therefore this humour will comform them and also show some creativity.
Final analysis for Advert 3
My 3rd advert, uses two models- a male and a female which demonstrates the main targetted genders. And, once again they go in the targetted age group of 16-25 year olds.
The mise en scene of this advert shows that the location is an inside location however of Chinese restaurant which can be identified by the food- noodles illustrated in the photo. When an audience hears about a delivery service they would expect to see a variety of foods shown in the adverts which is what the conventions of a food service will be like. Therefore, in my adverts i have explored and shown two types of foods- pizza- Italian and noodels- Chinese (Asian), showing that ``YOUR FOOD`` service will be offering varieties of foods, in order to show diversity and to match the desires of the different kinds of audiences which will be from different origins therefore with different cultures and food traditions. Therefore the more different food portrayed in the adverts the more interested audiences from different countries will be and the higher chance there will be of having their traditional food and meeting their desires. This therefore emraces multiculturalism too.
However, in contrast to the other adverts this advert will be targetted at the middle class audiences. One of the reasons for this is the mise en scene as the location is in inside a fancy restaurant meaning thta the people that would be able to afford that will be the middle classes unlikely those coming from the working class backgrounds. The lights make the atmosphere look more elegant, formal and fancy too. Furthermore, the dressing of the female model is quite formal as she is wearing a black shirt. Both models show positive facial expressions and this can be seen because the shot taken is a medium 2 shot which also shows the interaction of 2 people. In this case the symbolic code, which is the 2 models expressing the feeling of happiness and joy through them laughting will create positive conotations and have a positive emotional and mental impact on the audience. The feeling of contentment, joviality and enjoyment is spread to the audience through the facial expressions of the models. As the mise en scene includes some unsaturated colours such as the dark green colour of the plants and the dark brown wooden boards, the use of the white in the wirtten codes is used to contrast the dullness of the colours and make the mise en scene seem more cheeful. The lights at the top, also add lighting so this adds more positivity to the advert.
As the yellow is a stimulating colour it creates this link between the service and the audience, as it is used in the telephone number therefore this stimulate the audience to call and order.
Final analysis for advert 4
Firstly, the gender that is emphasised in this advert is the female gender however it does not subvert the male or the other genders as they are portrayd in the other 3 adverts. The targetted age group of 16-25 year olds is successfully achieved as the model in this advert is at the age of 16.
Moreover, in this advert the stereotyoes which are represented are stereotyoes which are usually held upon the females of Essex which are mostly negative in most cases. In the advert i have used red lipstick for the model which draws the attention of the people towards the advert as the red is an alarming colour, rather than using the simplistic colours such as black and white which have usually got less meanings attached to them. This bright & saturated red colour acts as a warning and symbolises the female gender and the tyical `Essex girl`. This specific shade of red puts importance and power upon the model and makes her stand out and be the main object of the advert. As `Essex girls` are stereotyped to be provokative and showing off the red represents this very clearly. In addition to this the jewellery that the model is wearing furthermore illustartes the stereotype that Essex girls always look made up over the top and will always be ready to go out. And the orange eyeshadow that she is wearing adds to saturated colours already included in the adverts and implies determination, encouragement of the audience and joy, making the advert positive and creative as a whole. The social class that will be targetted at this advert will be the working class mainly. This can be identified through the clothing of the model. The clothing is very simplistic and quite sporty therefore it shows that it will attract those from the lower income backgrounds. The colour white of the top connotes simplicity and purity, however the tracksuite bottoms are grey and this colour implies dullness, dirtiness and is a quite dingy colour which symbolises the features of the working class.
With all of this make up and props of the model, ther is beauty appeal used because an attractive-relevant advert comes with an attractive model rather than what the audience will call an `average-looking model` therefore by embracing the beauty of the model, this will draw the attention of the audience. Also, with this appereance of the model, this will appeal to The Mainstreamer as they follow the daily routine of life and the traditional therefore this would be just to order food for home as shown in the advert. As they are the leading and the largest group in the society therefore this means that there will be a higher chance of this advert to be liked by a larger number of the audience & society.
As the shot of this photo is a medium shot it portrays both the facial expressions of the model and the body language at the same time, euqally. The shot allows the audience to see the eye contact that the model is making. This direct mode of address helps to establish a elationship between the advert and the audience. The model`s finger appears quite big in the advert it is making it quite persuasive towards the audience and also adds positivity and humour to the advert.
The lighting of this advert is very bright and warm. The bright lighting is associated with decision taking and is also likely to have a positive emotional impact of the audience. The bright lighting increases the audience`s sense of warmth and therefore the audience is more likely to favour this and the delivery service too.
Looking at the written codes such as the, slogan `delivery faster than light` this is a catchy slogan as it would cause the audience want to test this hypothesis and see if the food delivery service is actually as fast as portraye therefore they would order, and if the customers are satisfied with the delivery then they would be more likely to order again and again.
The main colour used in the advert is the red as it cotrasts the colours of the clothing and of the mise en scene therefore making the written codes stand out and therefore to be more recognisable by the audience. It is a colour which acts like a warning and an alarm therefore it provokes the audience to want to test this food delivery service.
The yellow is a colour associated with the thrive for success therefore having it used in the advertising- the phone number is very effective as if somebody calls to order this means that the adverts have been successfull in targetting the audience.
For all adverts
Linking this to the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), all of my 4 adverts follow the central route to persuasion because the adverts will use primary tools such as the wirtten codes which are the slogans and straplines in order to persuade the audience to order from `YOUR FOOD` delivery service. Moreover, the model`s symbolic codes such as their feelings, emotions and facial expressions are also an example of the central route to persuasion as they will have an a direct impact on the audience that will result in them wanting to or not wanting to order from this delivery service.
In Advert 2 & Advert 4 there is anchorage used through having the models pointing their fingers at the camer in order to represent the name of the food delivery service- `YOUR FOOD`. This therefore shows the use of anchorage and will interest the reader. It also helps to forms this relationship between the advert and the audiene so they can feel more comfortable to order from this food service.
In all adverts, the headline is in bold to illustrated its importance, power and dominance. Moreover the bold font results the written codes to be more easily recognised and therefore attract the attention of the audience looking at the advert.
Writing will mostly be written by using Sans-Serif as this font is more sharp and it is more formal, it also includes a variety of widths and shapes. Sans- Serif typefaces are furthermore associated as more friendly, direct, clean and minimal than the Serif typefaces, and this is what is needed for my target audience. As my target audience is 16-25 year olds, this means that this audience is from the nwere generation therefore they will prefer and favour a modern style rather than outdates and vintage font use.

Audience research and feedback- 06/03/2019
Audience research and feedback
Analysis and action plan accroding to the survey`s feedback

Analysis and action plan for changes
The main action that i will take for improving the adverts after looking at the responses of the survey that i have conducted will be take the photos during the day as advert 1`s photo was taken at a later time therefore this makes the photo seem quite dull and unsaturated as there is absece of daylight so this would result the advert to be unrecognisable. What i will consider in doing when taking the next photos will be to take them in locations where the colours in the background are more saturated, in order to create this sense of positivity and optimism by the bright colours at the background.
Another aspect that i can improve for the advert is not having the model in the photo smoking as some of the audience may find it either offensive or inapropriate, as they may be against it and find it unhealthy therefore they it will be unlikely for them to order ``YOUR FOOD`` services as they might disagree with what is portrayed in the advert. As, the advert is the first experience of the audience looking at this delivery service this will force them to make a judgement therefore even if the food service is extremely good, the audience may have already been discouraged from ordering from there because of the appereance and representations of the advert, so this illustrates the importance of the adverts and the first experience of the audience that are looking at them.
Another aspect, that respondents have voted to be changed/improved is the slogan as it is quite boring and not persuasive which will make them more unlikely to order from this food delivery service. Therefore my plan is to make a list of initial slogans and ask the students from my class what they personally think is an engaging and catchy slogan that may intrigue the audience to a very high level influence them in ordering from ``YOUR FOOD`` delivery services.
To Question 3, the majority of the responses have voted that they would change the colours of the slogan, as the white is a very simplistic and basic colour which does not convey enough information to the audience, which is needed to them to persuade them to order from this service.
In order to change this and make the slogans appear much more effective i am planning to add the colour of:
- red
- black
- yellow
- green
These colours have very strong connotations which are very relatable to a food delivery service. Also, i will combine the colours in order for them to support eachother and make eachother stand out which will make the slogans appear more persuasive and encouraging towards the audience. Colours are very important in conveying messages and meanings towards the audience.
The yellow is a vey stimulating colour, very bright therefore it will be very good in using it to attract attention as it is an alarming colour also acting like a warning just like the red. Yellow is also associated with food as studies show. The green is clearly linked to healhty food, which will appeal to some of the audience for example if they are vegetarians and may desire and prefer a healthier way of eating. Red and black are good when combined as red is a powerful colour and black symbolises formality therefore they make a link together.
To Question 4, the majority answered that the targetted age group has been represented fairly successfully however have added that there is only 1 model in both adverts therefore for my real photos for the final adverts i take the photos with more than 1 model and also add a male model as in these 2 adverts the same model is a female therefore the male audience looking at the adverts may be influenced to think that this food delivery service will only be targetted at the female gender, however it is not. By adding a male audience, this will make reinforce an equillibrium as both genders will feel like they are targetted and welcome by the adverts, so no genders are discriminated and ignred by the adverts.
And lastly, to Question 6 and Advert 2, the majority of the people said that they would like to change the food that is shown in the advert as the food does in fact represent food from a delivery service and can be replaced with food such as a pizza for example, so it can make sense and actually link to the idea that the advert is for a delivery service.

Location scouting- 01/03/2019
Location scouting
Analysis of the locations, why have they been chosen
This location is at the front door of a home showing the service `YOUR FOOD` delivering food. The use of this location is useful as it shows that this service offers deliveries to homes which will be favoured by the majority of the people, which is seen through the person handing the food to the model in the photo.
As the model is wearing sporty clothes, mostly worn at home it shows that she will be eating the food at home as it is a home delivery and also symbolises that the consumers will mainly be from a working class background.
This location is different, in contrast to the first 2 inside locations. This is an outdoor location in front of a food takeaway place with a group of students all going into the age group targeted. This location therefore shows that the food from `YOUR FOOD` service can also be eaten outside, not necessarily at home as a delivery.
All 3 models are students therefore this shows that a big number of the people that will order from this service may be young students which are mostly into fast food, or people who are busy working long hours and therefore do not have time for cooking at home but may pop in the local place to eat something in their lunch breaks just like the students may do when they have lunch too.
In this advert, the age group is explored in a better as the ages of the models in the photo vary. The female is 16, the boy carrying the helmet is 17 and the second male is 21. Therefore this explores 3 different ages that into the targeted age group.
The 4th location is in the centre of the town Harlow which is in Essex, where the models in the photo are just sitting at a table, in an outdoor location.
This location shows that the food from `YOUR FOOD` services can be delivered to any place that a customer requests it to. Especially if students from colleges are ordering the food they may want to consume it outside such as in the parks or town centres as they may not have time to actually eat in. Once again, there is 4 models in the photo which explore the ages that go in the target demographic of 16-25 year olds.
The last photo, shows a different location to the other photos as it is an indoor location of a food restaurant. Thereofore the location shows that, the food will also be available to be eaten inside as long as the consumers have the time available to do that, otherwise if they don`t there are other alternative options such as delivery.
Also, the food shown in this advert is Chinese therefore this illustrates that `YOUR FOOD` services offers different varieties of food, from pizza- Italian to noodles- Chinese. This furthermore shows that the adverts are targeted to consumers from all different identities and cultures as it shows different types of foods. This therefore will attract many more customers as the foods offered explore the different food traditions and customs of the people from other countries.

The fact that i have taken the photos for the potential food adverts at 4 different locations is, in order to show the audience that the food from this service can be consumed at many different places therefore meeting the needs of the different range of consumers. For example, one person may wish to consume the food at home as they don`t have time to eat outside or prefer to eat at home, and therefore have it delivered to their home, whereas another customer may want to eat the food outside eg in the park as it may be closer to where they work/study or are, or have the food in the food restaurant. This portrays, how this food service tries to meet the needs of the different potential customers and is shown through the photos of the adverts.
Mock up designs- 27/02/2019
Mock up designs for the print adverts
This 1st mock up has an inside loccation- kitchen. I have tried to use saturated and bright colours in the mise en scene through the clothing of the model and the food, in order to convey positivity through the advert. The clothing of the model, the top is quite revealing therefore portraying the stereotype held upon the Essex females as being sexually explicit. In addition to this, the top of the model is quite colourful but the main colour is the red which is the main reason that made me choose that top as the red is passionate and dynamic colour which attracts the most attention due to having strong emotional impact, this is what is needed in my advert a strong and powerful colour that will stand out and therefore draw the attention of people towards the advert. Also, it is shown that the people who desire this colour this colour strive for success which makes a link between the colour and the purpose of the advert as the avderts is aimed and planned to be successfull. The colour has a strong link to femininity and sexuality which ones again links to the stereotypes about the female culture of Essex.
It symbolises power and vibrance which puts importace onto the advert.
Secondly, as we can see the model is making eye contact therefore creating a direct mode of address with the audience which establishes and forms this relationship of trust between the advert and the people looking at it, which make them feel more comfortable and may trigger them to order from `YOUR FOOD` services. The model is also wearing heels as it is a prop used in order to portray the culture of the Essex females and the stereotype that they are always made up over the top and too fancy. The kitchen is a suitable location for the advert as it is one of the main places where most people consume food at. The advert also shows 2 contrasting foods such as healthy and unhealthy food which symbolises that the food offered from `YOUR FOOD` service will vary and people will have options to choose from, either healthy or not as healthy food. This will be helpful and effective as it will meet the desires of what the different groups with different tastes may have.
Anchorage is used in the advert, as the two pieces of media support eachother to convey the meaning of the advert to the audience. As the service is called `YOUR FOOD` the model is pointing at the audience and therefore saying `YOUR FOOD` through her gestures.
In contradiction to the 1st mock u advert, the location of this mock up is in front of a food takeaway service which foreshadows the fact that the advert will be for a food takeaway service. Moreover, having the model smoking will emphasise the idea that the model is more likely to come and be from a working class background as smoking will be associated with working class people with a lower income. This creates a link to the Essex culture and the people, as the people from there are believed and stereotypes to mostly come from the working class backgrounds.
For the straplines, i have used 2 contrasting colours: black and white however their connotations actually create a relationship between the two contrasting colours and result in them supporting in eachother. It conveys the fact that the 2 opposing colours do not compete but, work together and complete eachother in this advertising aspect. The most common association of black is power, formality and strength whereas the white represents purity and cleanliness. The black therefore used in the name of the food takeaway service `YOUR FOOD` is used to form the connotations of the advertising aspect, portraying that the takeaway service is modern and formal due to the strong colour used. Whereas, the colour white is used in the straplines to portray the quality of the food and the food aspect of the advert, that it will be fresh, pure and clean food that the consumers will be satisfied with. As said, opposites attract and contrast creates completion, therefore the convergence of black and white is an example of how two divergent colours communicste more powerfully together thatn they do on their own. An lastly, i have balanced the use of the two colours which leads to drawing the attention of the audience to the advert, because they both stand out as they contrast eachother very effectively.
Statement of Intent- 27/02/2019
Statement of intent
Media Language
Media Language is a one of the most important aspects when analysing print media advertising. Media Language includes the different codes and conventions. The codes go in three contrasting categories which are technical codes, symbolic codes and written codes. Whereas the media conventions refer to the audience expectations of the media product in this case the print adverts for food delivery service. All codes are used in order to communicate with audiences and convey particular kind of messages. The technical codes include the camera angle, shot type and lighting.
Firstly, in all of my 4 adverts technical codes i am planning to use is the positioning of the models in the photos. I intend them to be positioned at the centre of the shot in order to attach and convey their importance. My plan is to use 2-3 different types shots such as, for example medium shots, close up shots, long shots and medium 2 shot which is a type of shot showing the interaction of 2 or more people. The use of medium shots will show both the facial expressions and emotions but at the same time it will show the body language and the background. Whereas, the close up will be useful in focusing the audience`s attention on the facial expressions and emotions of the model in the photo rather than on the background, location and the body language, which will also make the symbolic codes such as the emotions of the model to be more clear and easily seen by the audience. In contrast to this, the use of long shots will put and show more detail of the body language rather than the facial expressions. Furthermore, the lighting of the adverts i am planning to be bright and soft to encourage this positivity of the adverts. Also, the bright lighting will make the advert stand out in comparison to other things with unsaturated and dull lighting.
The symbolic codes are the emotions of people who convey meanings and send messages to the audience through the facial expressions and the emotions. In my adverts i will be focusing on positivism and optimism so the adverts can create this relationship with the audience and make them feel more comfortable with ordering from ``YOUR FOOD`` services.
The written codes explore the headlines, captions, titles and writing style used in the print adverts. In all adverts the headline will be in bold in order to attract the attention of the audience as it makes the headlines look more powerful and important therefore it will results them in standing out. The main colours used in them will be mainly red, black, green and yellow which are saturated colour and all have meanings attached to them. The red and black look good next to eachother as they contrast eachother, the yellow symbolises a warning and the green is used in order to make a link to the idea of healthy food. And lastly, when an audience hears about a delivery service they would expect to see a variety of foods shown in the adverts which is what the conventions of a food service will be like. Therefore, in my adverts i have will try to show more than 1 type of food, to show the idea that the delivery service will offer varities of foods from different cultures to match the desires of the different people that will have different tastes.
I aim to use humour appeal, as for an audience of 16-25 year olds this is what will interest and engage them, as it creates a sense of ingenuity and creativity so makes the advert not too formal, therefore suitable for this target audience. As well as youth appeal can be used to feel this taret audience feel more welcome and relatable to the advert and to show them that these adverts are clearly aimed at them.
Media Industry
The media industry includes the three processes of production, distribution and circulation. The production refers to the production techniques such as the digital editing, font and typography hierarchy/use, text register, composition. Firstly, after taking the photos i will use the digital editing through the use of the app- Photoshop in order to edit them to add headlines, starplines and slogans as well as to add the logo and to edit anything to the photos such as colouring- make the photos brighter. On Photoshop i will design the fonts of the straplines and slogans. For the typography hierarchy when creating the print adverts and adding the slogans and straplines they will be spread around the whole photo advert and not positioned only at one side of the advert so it doesn`t look overburdened. Also, most of the written codes will be in a bold font as it will make them stand out to the audience and will be more recognisable and easily read, by the audince. Also, writing will mostly be written by using Sans-Serif as this font is more sharp and it is more formal and also includes a variety of widths and shapes. As my target audience is 16-25 year olds, this means that this audience is from the nwere generation therefore they will prefer and favour a modern style rather than outdates and vintage font use. And for the composition, i will have taken the photos at a couple of ifferent locations to show diversity and show that the delivery service is able to deliver at any places as the audience may wish. Text register will be formal, having the writing spelled in a formal and correct way, however to contrast that the symbolic code of the models in the photos may be quite informal because the audience of 16-25 year olds will desire some informality and not a fully serious tone as they are young and will not feel engaged and attracted if the whole advert is formal and there is no humour added to it. The 4 adverts will be for magazine adverts which promote a new Food takeaway delivery service, however portraying the regional identity of Essex. After the adverts have been all put together and constructed, i can use social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter & Instagram to appeal to the audience which will be very successful with my target audience of 16-25 year olds as a very high number, nearly all of these people will have and be using this social media sites.
Media Audience
The media audience will be targetted through different ways used in my adverts. Such as the stereotypes of the Essex culture which will be represented and portrayed in my adverts I feel like my adverts will appeal to the mainstream and to the explorer. It will appeal to the explorer as the adverts are all very contrasting to eachother, with different locations and people with from different races and cultures therefore the explorer will feel intrigued by that and also as different foods will be shown in the advert the explorer will be interested as they are driven by discovery and new frontiers which can be found in these adverts. Whereas, the Mainstream as they are the largest group within society and they tend to respond well to brands that offer value for money and they also are the group within society that follow a daily routine and the food service advertised and the food offered will come in use in their daily routine. The colours i will use will be colours contrasting eachother such as white and black, red, yellow, green. The red looks very effective when next to black as it stands out and also represents a warning therefore the audience will be interested and pay attention to the advert. Whereas the yellow is a colour associated with food.
Media Representation
Firstly, this delivery service is targetted at the age group of 16-25 year olds therefore this can be seen through the use of the models which all go in this age group. Also, all genders are targetted and it will be seen in the adverts as i will aim to use more than one model, therefore showing the female and male gender, so they all feel targetted and so a specific gender does not feel segregated or ignored. Secondly, as the food delivery service is for the Essex region, i will portray a few stereotypes that are held for the region and for the people from there through the use of my models in the adverts, this will be mainly by their dressing style and other props, and also through the locations of the adverts.

Examples of photos that can be used in the potential adverts

Advertising strategies used in the shots
Out of the advertising strategies, in my first location shots i have used saturated colours in the background which create a positive atmosphere in the advert and portray this positivity and optimism. Also, my model in the adverts makes a direct mode of address making eye contact with the people who may be looking at the advert which furthermore creates this relationship between the advert and the people that will be looking at it, making the audience feel more comfortable with the advert resulting in them being more likely to order from `YOUR FOOD` services.
As my delivery service `YOUR FOOD` is supposed to link and portray stereotypes held for Essex culture and Essex Youth, i have showed that throughout the props which are in the advert.
- Red lipstick
The red lipstick that the model has used draws the attention of the people towards the advert rather than using more simplistic colours such as black and white. The red colour symbolises a warning and therefore it is an alarming colour. Also, it clearly symbolises the female gender and the typical `Essex girl`.
Also the shade of red makes the model stand out and also conveys power and importance to the advert. Also it relates to the Essex culture as most ``Essex girls`` are stereotyped to be showing off and the red lipstick symbolises that. Also, the fact of applying the red lipstick onto the lips can also link to the stereotype of Essex girls getting ready for a night out at the nightclub.
- Heels
The heels are used in order to portray the stereotype held upon Essex girls as always trying to look as best as they can and that they would never go out unless they are all made up and fully ready. Also, the model wearing heels and not just a normal pair of shoes symbolises that Essex girls always want to be looking `fancy` and made up over the top unlike other girls who would just put a bit of make up and dress quite normally & simply and go out.
- Clothing
The clothing is quite revealing especially the top that the model is wearing which emphasises the stereotype about `Essex girls` . That these girls do not value education and the important aspects of life but value the appearance and how they appear to other people especially what the boys would think about them. And lastly, it clearly portrays how Essex girls are always sexually explicit and consider that as normal.
In the other photos with the location of the food takeaway place, the dressing of the 2 boys is not a formal type of clothing representing the boys from Essex that would dress more like in a `roadman` style. Also, one of the boys is wearing holding a helmet in his hands as it can be seen in the advert which therefore shows the fact that he is riding a motorbike which represents the stereotype of Essex boys being `scrappy` and into more dangerous things such as riding bikes and cars at high speeds and not thinking at what the consequences may be. Also, the trainers that the boys are wearing a brandy trainers showing that the targeted group of people may be the Aspirer & Succeeder. which are people who are mostly attracted by materialistic aspects and things mainly judging based on the appearance and image of the persona.
- Smoking
The model smoking in front of the takeaway place symbolizes how both genders in Essex females & males go into things such as smoking and drinking at very young ages, which therefore would emphasize that most people from Essex will be working class people as the middle class people would typically be more behaved, socialized & raised in a way that would avoid doing this things.
- Gender
As all of the photos for the potential adverts include both a female and male model this represents the idea that the adverts will be targeted at both genders- females and males.
-Ethnicity
Generally, there is not a specific ethnicity that the adverts are targeted at therefore showing that the food from the service `YOUR FOOD` will be open to be consumed by all ethnicities not being aimed at any in specific. Having the advert being targeted at all ethnicities will increase the chances of attracting more customers by the advert as all ethnicities will feel welcome.
-Age
These photos represent and are targeted for people in the age group of 16-25 year olds which is the age group that the adverts will be targeted at. Also, the targeted age group of this photos can clearly be identified as all the models fit in this age group. Having models which are only from this age group makes it suitble as otherwise if the models do not represent the age group which the adverts will be targeted at will confuse the audience/people looking at the advert, also if the models in the photos were to be too old (many years above the targeted age group) will result in the targeted audience not to feel interested in the advert as the adverts will not match their interests as the interests vary between the different age groups.
-Region (regional identity)
Through the photos, i have to represent the Essex culture & Essex Youth cultur as well as some of the stereotypes held upon this region. The props listed above ( eg. cigarette in hands, clothing, heels, lipstick) show the steretypes portrayed by the photos. The shoots are all taken in Essex locations too.
-Social class
There are two classes represented and targeted by the photos- working class and middle class consumers. The middle class is targeted in the photos that include the model with the black jeans and the heels. This can be seen as she is dressed quite fancy, wearing heels and heavy make up such as the hard, red lipstick. Heels are shoes which are oftenly worn by middle class people rather than the working class people as they may not have the economic capital available in order to possess them. Also, the clothing if this same model can be seen as being quite a formal and fancy type of clothing which is typical for middle class girls rather than working class.
However, on the other hand the 2 boys will be the representatives for the working class as they are both wearing trainers which are suitable and mostly worn by the working class as they are a pair of informal shoes. In addition to this, we can also see that they are wearing hoodies and this is the normal way of dressing among the working class boys as the middle class boy will be expected to wear shirts.
- Logo & advert image
Potentially, the logo will be seen as a female orietated logo due to the bright red colour and use of lipstick this can result in the audience and people looking at the advert to believe that the food service `YOUR FOOD` will be targeted at female consumers. However, the adverts having male models included in them will show that the advert will be targetted at all genders and not females only. Also, the props used for the male models in the advert shots and stereotypes held upon the Essex males will also portray the idea that the adverts` target audience will be all genders.
